AFFECTIVE COMMUNICATIONS SESSION

What makes entrepreneurs stand out from the crowd is the story they tell, not the product they sell. This was the focus of our first Skills Training Session with the tech entrepreneurs at Civic Innovation Lab in Abuja, Nigeria. We discussed two questions any business owner should ask him/herself before communicating with potential clients or investors:
- How does my audience feel, and how do they want to feel?
- How do I amplify conversations with customers/investors?
"Affective" was a conscious word choice, and by the end of the session attendees understood why communicating with moods, feelings, and attitudes in mind is the first step to ensure an effective sales pitch.
